We presented our experience formalising artisanal miners before authorities, academics, suppliers and representatives from across the sector.
Minera Yanaquihua took part in INDUMIN 2026, the country's first convention devoted exclusively to small-scale mining. It was held from 10 to 12 March at the Jockey Exhibition Centre in Lima, organised by Gerens Graduate School and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), and made official by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM).
Over three days the convention brought together miners, suppliers, authorities and academics in a conference programme and a trade fair with more than 200 companies. The discussion focused on productivity, mechanisation, safety, environmental sustainability, formalisation and public policy for the sector.
There we presented the AMACCI project, which we run together with the Association of Artisanal Miners of the Ispacas Peasant Community. We shared its main result: as of the end of February 2026, 74 members of the association had completed their formalisation process before MINEM.
Through our participation we showed that cooperation between medium-scale mining and artisanal miners makes it possible to move towards a formal, safe and traceable activity that generates legal income for families in the area.
